Larry Laqua grew up in the horse business and for many years trained Sadddlebred, Arab and Morgan Saddle Seat horses.  He trained several National & World Champion horses.  He has always loved dogs and hunting and trained his own hunting dogs.  In the early 1990’s he switched his focus from training horses to training hunting dogs.

He has trained hundreds of successful hunting dogs from just about every breed. He runs  both Retrievers and Pointers in AKC Hunt Tests  and has earned many AKC Titles with  his own  and his customers dogs.

Julie Johns does the behind the scenes work at Legend Gun Dogs.  She is also a horse  trainer, but “retired” to help run the kennel.  She still rides and  trains her own Dressage horse for competition.

Larry & Julie are both natives of Rochester, Minnesota and relocated to the Twin Cities area to be closer to the hub of the horse & dog business.
